Mini-conference on the Jewish family
Tuesday November 10th 2015
University of Toronto
The conference is convened by Chaim Saiman and co-sponsored by the University of Toronto and York University.
Our hosts are providing a light breakfast, lunch and coffee.
There is no formal registration, but please let Larry Rabinovich <LRabinovich@barclaydamon.com> know if you will be attending.
The proceedings will take place in Bancroft Hall, Room 200B, 4 Bancroft Avenue, 8.30 a.m.-4.00 p.m.
There are hotels in a variety of price ranges within walking distance of the university. Among these is the Holiday Inn at 280 Bloor St. West (but there is no special rate for the conference). There are a great number of synagogues and kosher restaurants in Toronto, but they are concentrated in the residential neighborhoods about 3-5 miles away, and there do not appear to be any in the immediate vicinity of the university.
Bancroft Hall is located at 4 Bancroft Avenue, approximately a ten minute walk from Spadina subway station. The parking structure nearest to Bancroft Hall is located at 60 St. George Street, approximately a distance of two blocks from the Bancroft Hall.
If you are planning to book accommodations, the following two hotels are conveniently located near the conference:
· Journey’s End, 280 Bloor Street West, (tel) 416 968 0010
· Madison Manor, 20 Madison Avenue, (tel) 416 922 5579
A COR-certified kosher lunch will be served.
Larry Rabinovich <LRabinovich@barclaydamon.com> will be happy to help answer any individual questions or direct you to local sources who have more precise information.
